VIKE seeks a Researcher

Name of the Project:        Survey on the Processes of Ratification of Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD) in the Countries of the European Union

Job Type:                          Project-basis job taking place from 15 December 2007 through 15 March 2008 (4 months). Full-time job. Placed in the Helsinki or Turku.

Job Description:                Objectives of the Project is to get information on the ratification processes of CRPD in 7 countries (inc. Finland); to facilitate the ratification process in Finland; to promote research in the area of human rights and disability and to promote the disability-sensitive image of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and VIKE worldwide.

Methods of Work:            The survey will be carried out by utilizing literature, communicating with the governments and NGO’s in different countries and on the basis of this investigation a report will be prepared. The report will be written in English. In addition, a Finnish version of the report will be delivered. The results of the survey will be published in a conference organized by VIKE in spring 2008.

Qualifications:                   Fluent English. Knowledge on human rights, disability and CRPD.

Salary:                               University level salary.
